The Arab Women Sports Tournament (AWST) is the Arab world’s largest and only event of its kind dedicated to women, and one of the region’s most significant sport gatherings. Organized by the Sharjah Women’s Sports, AWST is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Organization and wife of the Ruler of Sharjah. The tournament takes place under the umbrella of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees and with the endorsement of the League of Arab States.

Since its inception in 2012, AWST has been staged every two years, becoming a vital platform for Arab female athletes to compete, develop, and gain international exposure. With each edition, it brings together clubs from across the Arab world, offering a dynamic space where sport excellence goes hand in hand with cultural exchange.

AWST’s mission is to advance women’s sports in the Arab world by fostering fair competition, raising performance standards, and empowering female athletes to reach the forefront of regional and international arenas—while reinforcing Sharjah’s role as a driving force in women’s sports and a source of inspiration for future generations.
